Hello Everyone can anyone guide me as how to prepare to achieve a target of more than 700. Need tips , plan and material advice New to Gmat forum. No idea of anything. Would highly appreciate your suggestions.

Can you provide a bit of your background? Have you been studying for the exam? Taken any practice tests? If so, what were your scores? What is your undergrad in? Work experience, etc.? The GMAT is not a test of "what you know", it is more a test of "how you think". So, drilling the fundamental concepts only will get you half-way to scoring a top flight score. The test makers will expect you to know the fundamentals but then to be apply them to unfamiliar or unique questions. Getting a feel for the types of questions and how the concepts are tested is very helpful, but understanding the strategy of the exam and different approaches will really assist you in scoring in the upper ranges.

Once you provide some more information, we can get you more specifics.

Hi anushavidya91,

It sounds like you're just starting out. Have you done any research/studying so far?

If you're just beginning, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan. If you'd like to do a little bit of work to familiarize yourself with the content and question types first, then that's fine, but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) Do you know which Schools you're planning to apply to?
