How much does being a Hispanic US Citizen help when applying? Any particular schools in the top 10 take more URM's than the others?

GREAT question, and unfortunately, I don't think there's a clear answer or a number you can put on things. Underrepresented minorities still need to put together ace applications -- the whole package needs to be there: GMAT, GPA, work experience, extracurriculars, etc.

Now, what is great though is that there are additional resources available to you. URMs in the US should sign up with The Consortium and consider applying through there. Also, many programs have Hispanic Student Groups that both formally and informally are involved in the admissions process. Before you prep your apps, reach out to these clubs/groups and ask them about special admissions events that you could attend or if there's any sort of mailing list you can be added to. One of my clients a few years back got invited to Wharton's diversity event and had a great time -- he also got some great tips for his app.

all things being equal, and they rarely are, you might want to review which schools have a particularly low number for this. They would be motivated to improve it. That said I wouldn't worry about it too much, you can't make yourself more Hispanic but you can submit your best application. Great advice above...most top MBA programs have launched initiatives and hired staff to help attract underrepresented minorities to their campus. They have also partnered with programs Like Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) which serve as a feeder into these top programs. I would actually take a look at MLT and consider applying, the program serves as MBA prep and will help you network with top MBA programs and better prepare your application

Hi @Blades19-- thanks for your question. One thing I know from my role as former Adcom-- B schools are all looking for more Hispanic US Citizens! First-- you should consider applying through the Consortium https://cgsm.org/ if you are committed to the goal of building a bigger pipeline for all URM's in business. You can see from their website which schools are Consortium members and you can apply to all these schools the Consortium process--
or at least up to 6 member schools. And second-- while you may want to look at which schools take more URM's also look at the schools with fewer-- as they may have a strong interest in getting more-- and you can help them do that.
Also think about where you want to build your professional network and which schools have strong programs for helping you realize your post MBA goals.
