In this question:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/about-5-mill ... 42544.html The correct answer choice is B
In the sentence: "(B) States have been invaded by leafy spurge, a herbaceous plant from Eurasia, with milky sap, that gives mouth sores to cattle and displaces grasses and other cattle food, rendering"
Doesn't
THAT refer to the closest preceding noun beyond the additional information between the commas (with milky sap), which is
Eurasia.
If so, doesn't this make the sentence ILLOGICAL?
Why did we say that
THAT refers to "herbaceous plant" or refers to "leafy spurge"?
=========
Also, in answer choice (C), when we say
a herbaceous plant from Eurasia having milk sap that gives mouth..., doesn't
having modify
Eurasia and not
herbaceous plant as it is a verb-ing noun modifier that will modify the exact preceding noun.
Thanks,
