Hey havent been on here much and just saw your post. I switched from FT to PT after i got a promotion at my current position. It is possible to switch, I just emailed the Part Time rep and asked to switch. I actually found out that i was on the waitlist from an accepted.com email for a chat session for waitlisted candidates. I then checked the status of my app and sure enough I was waitlisted. I recently found out i got into the program via a telephone call. Still to this day I havent received an email from USC as to my waitlist or acceptance. One curious thing is that i havent interviewed at SC, yet got admitted. To this day i thought this was a near impossibility.

Hey guys,

I'm currently studying for the GMAT and plan to apply to USC's part time program for the fall of 2008. I am very concerned about my undergraduate GPA being only a 2.7 however I'm a great test taker and I am shooting for over a 700 on my GMAT.

You think with 6-7 years work experience, great essays and a 700+ score I can get in? Or does my GPA screw me?

If I take accounting courses through UCLA's extension program can I use those grades to up my GPA?

What were your guys profiles and were you accepted?

Hi Jay,

I'm in a similar situation as Tim. I'm a UCLA undergrad with about 4 years work experience. I'm looking to apply PT in the Fall. My GPA is bad(2.9) but I feel like I can do real well on the GMAT.

Should I take UCLA extension courses?

Should I apply extra early? I think there is an option to apply as early as Novemeber. Would this help my chances?

Any insight would help.

Thanks!

kbyuan - PM me. I can give you some advice. Don't worry about your GPA. I had a lower GPA and scored a 710 to mitigate the low GPA. Just do well on the GMAT :-D

Hey guys,
My GMAT score is 660 (q:48 v:33)
graduated with master's from virginia tech in biology
work ex: 2yrs
GPA: 3.9
i am applying for part-time MBA at UCLA and USC - fall2008.
do you think my good GPA and "unique" background can compensate for low score in GMAT? or should i consider retaking the test.
Thanks!

i think you should be fine. you may want to retake the gmat again if you think you can increase your score by more than 40pts.

Hi Jayy, thanks for the reply. I have taken GMAT two times, 3rd time may hurt, isn't it? and do you, by any chance, know the average GMAT score for Marshall MBA PM?
thanks!
