Hello All,

Thank you for your insights in advance.

Brief information about me and my goals -
I am Indian software engineer working in US for last 5 years. Post-MBA, I want to work at big High Tech company as a product manager.
I have got admits from both USC Marshall and UW Foster. I am having tough time to decide between these two schools.
Marshall - No scholarship
Foster - 50k Scholarship
I prefer to work in bay-area, though I do not mind to work in Seattle for initial 2-3 years.

Do you think paying extra money for better known brand is worth it?
Can good work experience compensate for brand name?
Do companies prefer people from specific schools only?

Please help me to make the right decision.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

My vote is for Foster.
Firstly, Seattle is a technical hub. So that fits your need. Also, most of its MBA grads get into tech. So it might be helpful while creating a new network.
Secondly, I don't think USC is worth giving up the money(50k is a lot of money)

FOSTER!

Thank you for your insight. Do you think if I accept Foster, moving to bay area later down the road would be troublesome?

Congratulations for two great admits. :)

My vote also goes for Foster considering your goals, location and money. Two points difference in ranking won't make much difference.

And yes, it would be possible for you to move to any location if you find connections. I am sure foster will have Alums in Bay area as well.

So, go for Foster.

All the best :)
