Hi!
I have a question about the use of 'as well as' with verbs. I'm ok with everything else.
So, when do we need to use a verb + 'ing' and when 'to' + verb after 'as well as'? Are there any rules?
For example, in the following sentence, a verb + 'ing' is used.
He broke the window, as well as destroying the wall.
Is it correct? Or should it be: 'He broke the window, as well as broke the wall.'
In one official question, the following piece of sentence was incorrect because of broken parralelism:
"...condominium hotels permit buyers
to acquire a specific room or suite, as well as
acquiring...".
As was noted in most responses, the correct version should have been like this:
"...condominium hotels permit buyers
to acquire a specific room or suite, as well as
to acquire..."
