I have read that you get trash your sleeves with the ink if you don't pay attention, so it's advisable to take the test using a black tshirt or at least clothes you're not affraid to damage

I had one and used it actively for my exam prep - when studying at home. Whenever I took a CAT at work, I just used plain pencil and paper. I don't think it's necessary at all for your prep. Sure it simulates the actual test environment, but I do not think that boosted my prep or my final score at all

nah, I really don't think it did anything for me! It did not feel weird or strange to use or anything. The pen worked just fine at home and at the test center (they gave me 3 there just in case). Just make sure that during any one section you do not need to write more then the 12 pages per booklet (I believe it was 12 correct me if I am wrong). Otherwise you need to exchange the booklet while your timed session is running. Make sure you exchange it between each of the other session so that you never run out of free space.

I am completely unfamiliar with this topic... Do they not provide standard paper to use? Can I bring my own pens?

You should look up info in this forum. There are fair amount of discussions going around for noteboard used in GMAT.

The question is no by the way, you cannot use your own pens. Everything will be provided by the test center

Isn't the board erasable? 12 pages for doing all the math is not enough!

The test booklet is erasable, but you are not given an eraser. The administrator will give you a new booklet.

No, you are given a test booklet with a marker.
It looks like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Manhattan-GMAT-Si ... 0979017580

You can only enter the test area with your ID used for admittance, nothing else. No pens, no paper, pockets empty, etc.

So we can't even bring a hankie to blow our nose if needed? Do they provide some kind of tissue to erase the board?

What about drinking, peeing and an apple for nibbling during breaks? Are there banned? I don't see myself spending 3h30 without drinking a single drop of water :?

hanky - if needed, the test center provides you with tissues.

eraser for the writing pads - nope. when u need more space, raise your hand and the proctor/person overseeing the exam gives you more.

as for breaks, you get a break in between sections. go to the gmac website for the specifics.

so we can't use the tissues to erase?

not really - a dry tissue will not erase and I believe you are not supposed to either....

Well, you don't know until you try, but actually the whole experience is not that bad - the marker is really good - it's my favorite pen now and I have some good pens from all the vendor meetings I attend.

Can't you spit on the noteboard and erase using the tissues or your clothes?
