Hi. I saw this mentioned on some threads that we have the option to ask for a headset/earplugs at the official test center on test day. Is that applicable to GMAT test centers in India as well(I will be giving the examination in New Delhi)? If yes, then is it recommended to get accustomed to using them while preparing for the exam? I couldn't see any info about earplugs/headsets in the official GMAT handbook though.
Hi
KattySnappy,
It depends on the center. I was given earplugs at one of the Delhi centers, but in Bangalore they gave me what I thought were passive earmuffs. I'm not sure, but they may have had active noise cancellation. They certainly were very effective.
You can always call your test center up and ask them about the kind(s) of ear protection they offer. And yes, I would recommend taking a couple of practice tests with similar equipment. The earmuffs I got were very tight and uncomfortable, especially after a while. That said, most of my students
don't report any issues with the headset, so my experience may not be representative.
