hi everyone,

So my last money i invested in the OG.. Ihave a friend who has the kaplan 2004
Computer disk and books and i can buy it from her.. Im really short on money now butneed to take gmat asap.. Doyou think its wise to use that?

Hi, I think its doesn't matter much if you have a 2004 edition of Kaplan (& you have not much financial support). Crucial point is regarding CATs. I would recommend you to try online CATs of Kaplan or MGMAT. 2004 CD would, afterall, be having some old stuff.

That's probably fine. I used that book (or a slightly earlier edition to get 750).... depends on your effort really.
The book, however, has improved since then and was significantly redone. I don't think you will be too much disadvantaged.

Yes, you are right, the CD's back then were not CATs if I remember correctly, so the tests were definitely not as good.
You may also have issues running them, though they were working on XP, so should be OK.

Thanks guys, this was of great help.. I really dont have the money to buy any other books/test so I'm gonna stick to this.. I think the old Kaplan CD test are indeed not CAT.. Were the subjects back them the same as the ones tested on the current GMAT?

Yes, the scope and the topics covered in GMAT are the same as there were in 2004.
