New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) was an American automobile manufacturer based in Fremont, California. Jointly owned by General Motors and Toyota, the plant opened in 1984 and closed in April 2010. I think that D) shows that employees began participating in suggestion programs, but it doesn’t clearly link this change to Toyota’s focus on quality and teamwork as opposed to other management changes.
I think A) links Toyota’s influence to a positive cultural shift (workers’ satisfaction improved specifically after their training in Japan), and high job satisfaction often indicates an improvement in workplace culture.
