The last line just mentions that it sparked debate around stricter regulations. nowhere it is mentioned it led to regulations. why then is ans D correct ? it should be ans A which is closest to show that continuation of financial products meant system endured collapse.

This question requires you to analyze new information and how impacts what is found in the passage.
The answer is NOT found in the passage as the result. Most harder RC passages are not going to hand you the answer either.
You have to use the new information and see how it would impact the details learned in the passage.
