I don’t quite agree with the solution. D can be correct when it was a flaw question. In order to weaken the argument, option A is the best i think. Please explain me with logic if I am wrong.

Hi. Happy to help!
So when you have an undermine question and it has data, you really want to undermine the data rather than suggest another explanation. That's the pattern/rule.

Now why D and not A:

Species with broad geographic ranges often experience high levels of genetic divergence across subpopulations, making them more vulnerable to speciation and eventual extinction.

The issue with A is really that it is not connected in any way with a timeline of extinction:
We are not told that high levels of genetic divergence makes them extinct FASTER than those without this issue. We are just told that they are vulnerable to this effect.... but how does it impact their survival rates vs. other species is not specified and thus we are left with a big gap.

Basically A sounds like an observation that's not connected to the other argument / counter-argument. That's like saying you should not build cars from metal as it will rust and destroy the car - valid but that will take a LONG time and should not be the argument why the cars should be made out concrete or wood or aluminum for example. We need a comparison between 2 items and that comparison is absent in A.
