Hi all,
as the post indicates above- took mgmat cat 1 and scored a v45 despite making 8 mistakes.
I know the algorithms aren't the same but wanted to understand how this came to be and what this means
5/8 mistakes were in RC (all questions in one passage were wrong)
2 in SC and 1 in CR

As you said, the algorithm of that practice test isn't ideal. So, it gave you a higher score than the GMAT would give you for the same performance.
That said, you must have gotten many hard questions correct to achieve that score. So, regardless of whether the algorithm accurately reflects the GMAT scoring algorithm, I think you can take your performance on that test as indicating that you are rather strong in Verbal.
I'm guessing that your true level is somewhere between V41 and V45.
