Vacation Time At Work

Question

I have a ton of vacation time to use up before I leave work, about twenty five days to use between now and mid-July. Things are so busy though, I don't think I'll be able to use a lot of it. I can cash out, but I'd rather coast for the next four months and take long weekends and a couple full weeks off. Definitely going to be a balancing act to take as much time off as possible without screwing people over at work by leaving them shorthanded. And I'm not so much worried about burning bridges as I am just concerned because I really like the people I work with and don't want to make their jobs harder picking up slack if I'm taking tons of time off.

Anybody else in a similar position?

25 days? 5 weeks? Nope... I've got maybe 4 at most, more like 3.5 to take.

I'm taking 3 weeks in a few months to go on a nice big vacation, and then a few days here and there for a trip down to Florida, other than that, nope, nothing major planned.

luckily for me, i am a bit of an island at work. I pretty much run my stuff independently, so don't need to worry about taking off and leaving anyone with the slack. And once tax season is over, I am SO DONE. There's no way I'm starting some other project or god knows what. My main concern will be to have the tax program all neatly packaged up to hand over. It's my baby, and the next person had BETTER NOT drop it!! I will probably be doing a lot of recruiting as well. Oh, and taking time off. Lots of it.

Over the years I have accumulated 83 days and these can be cashed out.

Apart from these I can avail 20 sick leave (use them of loose them) and 5 casual leave (use them of loose them).

you lucky b@stards... I have only 3.5 carried over from last year and another 5 or 6 days for this year up to May. Originally I wanted to quit and just cash out, but with the recent stock market beating, I need to work longer.

To ease the pain, I will take a few fridays off here and there... and a week in May for a mini vacation. Then give my 2 weeks notice when I get back! sweeeeeet.

I have 16 business days carried over from last year and have yet to take any of the 30 for this year.

I'd like to be able to take the last 2 months off but I'm not sure if too many people would be happy about that. I'm getting REALLY sick of my job - it gets worse each day. 

On the other hand, it may be a good idea to just cash a big chunk of it and use it cover part of the huge forthcoming debt.

Pro-rated... so my three weeks for the year becomes more like 1.5.
