Varsity Tutors Shuts Down Veritas Prep

I have been working with a Veritas Prep admissions consultant as I plan to apply to business school this fall. I just heard from my consultant that Veritas Prep is shutting down! They will stop servicing all existing clients by May 1.

Apparently they were acquired by Varsity Tutors three years ago, and now Varsity is shutting down the whole thing. I now need to figure out how to get my money back.

Is anyone else dealing with this? Why would they buy a respected consultancy only to shut it down a short while later?

I can confirm this.

The Veritas homepage is basically a "goodbye" message now, saying this:

Veritas Prep and Varsity Tutors have been sister companies since December 2018 and ultimately both became part of the Nerdy Inc. network of companies. After careful and thoughtful consideration about how to best operate these two Nerdy Inc. businesses, we’ve decided it’s time to leverage the Varsity Tutors live learning platform to facilitate Veritas Prep’s mission of delivering best-in-class test preparation and admissions consulting services for high achieving applicants, something it has done for more than two decades. Over the next several months, we will be migrating Veritas Prep content, tools, and expertise to Varsity Tutors and intend to discontinue access to Veritas Prep on May 1st, 2022.

We recognize that our customers are working hard towards their goal and have already invested time and energy in partnering with their Veritas Prep tutors, instructors, and consultants. For most students applying to programs for the 2022-2023 school year, May 1, 2022, represents the date by which most U.S. colleges and universities require a deposit. Therefore, we have made arrangements to continue to support active service engagements and content subscriptions through this key milestone.

Did you tried reaching out to customer care service , probably they better be able to assist you . Was the whole amount paid upfront for the admission services? or was payment supposed to be given in parts.?

The whole amount was paid upfront. I am still waiting to hear back from them.
