Ahh ! Thats basically what I wanted to know. I have pretty good idea of pay scales in finance, just wasn't sure if the consultants can keep up with similar scales with seniority. At the MBA grad level, both seem to be paying similar base packages at least

They will nearly always pay close to each other on base. Consultants often get more. The difference is in the bonuses.

Do consultancies pay year end bonuses (on a lower scale) or none at all ?
A matching base pay is pretty good especially given the recent increase in pay scale across the board in banks.

glassdoor.com is a decent place to look up salary info but remember it is self reported so it may or may not be completely accurate.

Quite a fun site to browse, but I think the "may or may not be completely accurate" thing hit me when I saw the average salary for MDs at JPM as 110k and the maximum as 200k

Remember banks have bonuses that make up way more of their income. Plus people dont have to prove they work for a company or make a given salary.
