After having read a lot of literature on the topic of Venture Capital I feel like I've got a decent feel for what the industry entails and the relative difficulty involving in its entrance.
I'm hoping to get involved in Venture Capital at some point in my career (the sooner the better) but I do not have the traditional WE/academic background (no technical degree, no direct entrepreneurial experience, and no hightech/biotech WE). What I do have is 2.5 years of experience in smaller scale entrepreneurial ventures in various roles (Financial Analyst, Business Development Officer).
Basically I was wondering what type of career path post-MBA would give me the best opportunity to enter the Venture Capital industry 10 years post-grad? As a Canadian who generally wishes to remain in Canada after b-school (if possible) your advice may not pertain to my exact circumstances, but any help would be appreciated.
My stats are to the left. Thanks in advance.
