I am about 2 1/2 weeks away from sitting for the GMAT. I am scoring in the 620 to 640 range. My goal is 650. I am scoring around 39 on math and about 38 on verbal. At this point, I think an easy way to improve my score would be to spend a little more time working on improving my verbal score. English is my primary language, so this should be an area I can improve fairly easily. So far, I have the following learning resources:
Kaplan GMAT Premier 2011
The Official Guide 12th Edition
Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook
Kaplan GMAT 800
The 2 ETS Practice tests.
MGMAT Number Properties.
MGMAT Word Translations.
MGMAT Math Foundations.
My questions are as follows:
1.) What should I study for verbal so that I can quickly learn the "key tips" for improving my verbal score? Should I use one of my current resources or is there another one I should buy?
2.) Also, I really haven't spent any time on the essays. I am not too concerned with the essays, but I would like to get an average score on them. Is there a good resource available that will help me get an "average" score on the essays?

I think getting the MGMAT SC should help you get that SC score right to the top. But it depends whats your accuracy on SC at present. If you are getting that odd ones wrong, i'd suggest get the MGMAT SC and go over it for a 4-5 days. That will def. get your SC score taken care of.
For essays, there is a thread by chineseburned - supposed to be the best one out there. Take a print out and write a couple of essays a day or two before your test. That should keep your anxiety for AWA under check.

Good advice, thanks! I will get the MGMAT SC book.
