Consider working on your solving approach, making the way you tackle questions more efficient. May sound strange but it's a large part of what I may tutor Verbal students. If you can find a study buddy with really strong Verbal skills you could get some insight into their approach. This sort of learning doesn't necessarily have to take a lot of time. Had a student go from a V41 to a V45 in about 10 days, for example. At a V39 level, it's probably fair to say a person already has a strong grasp on the fundamentals.
If you are losing all your marks on 1 sub-section (i.e. SC), however, there may be some fundamental gaps. Improving your approach may also mean improving your reading methodology.
