Hi Guys ,

Just came back

Quant 50 - 95 %
Verbal 23 - 31 %
Total 610 - 73 %

Only thing i can say is my verbal is not as bad as it looks . I really don't know why i got so low in verbal . Never got so low during my practise tests . I did everything possible for my verbal prepration . OG,Manhattan SC and not only i read those or took the tests but also i understood it properly . My 40th Q in verbal was BF CR , i thought it was good sign ,but i was wrong .

What else can i write ?? yes i'm disappointed but i'm not done yet . I've seen good as well as bad days . It was not my day today ,but i'm happy that i got 50 in Quant . Quant, my dark and faithful horse, has always helped me and verbal has always let me down .

Somehow my verbal part has to change . I'll try to figure it out .

Hey Buddy,

Don't worry. Take a week or two off the studies and come again. I know its easy said than done. Certainly it wasn't your day. You are definitely a 700+ material. But atleast good part is your Quant score. This time grab the verbal by its horns and kill the beast.

Read the paragraph in my signatures. Its from Indian President/ Scientist/ Visionary APJ Abdul Kalam's autobiography "Wings of Fire". Always remember this and just give your best.

Firstly, congrats on your score.. 610 is not bad.. :good

You should not feel let down. Your quant score is great :P I am sure you can better your verbal with some more study.. Don't give up. You are able to do that..

Don't feel bad about your score buddy. You defenitely deserve way more than that..

Hats off to you for scoring 50 in Q :good It was defenitely your worst day with Verbal. Leave your past behiend and just prepare for your second encounter..

Since you are officially a Quant Guru, any advice on Quant?..

Wow, a 50 quant :shock: :shock: Congrats!

For me, timing for verbal was an issue on the real test. Do you think you paced yourself pretty well for verbal? Which section in verbal do you find were difficult ?

ipc, congrats on the 50 math. :shock: There havnt been many 50 scorers with the new gmat. I always knew you were a math wiz. Now all you have to do is focus on verbal and im sure youll end up with your desired score. Good luck!

looks like Q 50 is jinxed man...
this is the second experience i have heard in the last month.. was wondering if gmat takes off from your quant score.. and if you do well in quant, your verbal gets that much more harder!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the support . It helps a lot. I will
start verbal preparation again .

Regarding my test experience ,

AWA :- simple no issues.
Quant :- It was tough from 3rd Q onwards the level was high ,No probability ,no permutation & combination . It was number theory (divisibility - DS ,remainders - DS) , inequalities , set theory ( DS ) ,coordinate geometry (1 slope -DS and other normal PS) , geometry (2 Question 1 simple and other question beyond my league (it is the toughest geometry question I’ve ever seen I will explain it later) , median, range(DS ) , profit loss (DS ) ,exponents (this was simple though a bit tricky) ,series and sequence .

This is what i can remember , the only thing i can stress on is it's more of application than just applying formula, one has to think and definitely it requires presence of mind .More DS and few PS for me .

Only piece of advice that i can give is first 15 and last 7-8 are the main ones. Yes last 7-8 . If you are going for 49/50/51 then keep some more time for last 7-8 .

I won't write anything about verbal part except that if you make couple of mistake in beginning especially in first five then you never know where the software will put you . If you ask me, i think there is something fishy about their algorithm .No wonder ETS is changing the way it's gonna conduct GRE . GRE in future will be NO MORE ADAPTIVE . Pretty sure they found something wrong in the adaptive format .

I'm gonna start verbal preparation again . My parents will be visiting me soon , so my preparation might slow down , but i will try to find the time and keep preparing.

Q50 represents you but not the verbal.

As many have mentioned earlier take it again give your best shot.

I am in the league as you are, with Q46 and V29 :cry: when I took GMAT last year.

I dont find time :cry: (the all time greatest excuse) but I wouldnt give up :P .

Don't feel bad on verbal score, there is no point, be confident & attack it again, it definitely doesn't represent you buddy.
