Thanx a lot Mike McGarry for replying. Yes thats true that i do not have a reading habbit and i am trying to develop that. My main problem with RC is i get the crux of the passage still my answers go wrong.i try eliminating, out of scope and others such rules, but still not able to do it. may be practice might help!

Hi aspirantmba01,

You've identified RC as an area that you have to work on, but before I can offer you the specific advice that you're looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?

3) What 'steps' do you go through when dealing with a typical RC prompt?
4) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
5) During your CATs, how much time do you spend in total on the SC and CR prompts (this is important because if you spend too much time on those prompts, then you have far less time to deal with the RC prompts that you face)?

6) What is your goal score?

Hello Rich,
First of all, Thanks a lot for replying.
Here are the answers to your queries:
1. I have just started my preparation, its been one month (on n off) going through my quant basics.
2. I have OG Review 2017, OG Verbal and OG Quant though not referred them much, but planning to as iam trying to develop reading habit by reading editorials.
3. When dealing with a typical RC prompt i first read the passage, simultaneously make a quick note of each paragraph and then answer the questions by eliminating, out of scope rules etc.
4. I scored 42 in Quant and 17 in Verbal, overall 500, and this was my first test since i mainly focused on clearing my concepts first.
5. During CATs i don't spend much time in the SC and CR prompts as i save time from these areas for RCs.
6. My goal score is at least to get 720.

Hi aspirantmba01,

Raising a 500 to a 720+ will take some significant work; you'll likely need another 3 months (or more) of consistent study time to raise your score to that level. Given your goal, it does not sound like you have the proper materials nor the proper study plan in place.

1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
