Sentence Correction:
1)Read both underlined & Non Underlined portion carefully. Sometimes the error in UL portion is related to NUL Portion. 2) Divide the sentence into clauses in your mind; Identify Sub-Verb pairs while reading. 3) Every time a pronoun pops up, look for its antecedent; The antecedent can be in another clause. 4) While reading look for Modifier placements; that, which, -ing, who, whom, whose modifying proper entities or not ! 5) Look for Idioms Errors; Considered as, Attribute of, Loss for are incorrect. 6) Look for Modifier wording error; Verb-ing, Verb-ed, Correct Adjective, Correct Adverb. 7) Parallelism - Most dreaded topic of SC; to-to, prepositional phrase-prepositional phrase, Verb-Verb; Parallel items shd be logical & coherent. 8) Parallelism - Always look for meaning; When to use Verb-ing & when to make a parallel list, be Careful.
Reading Comprehension:
1) Converge your full attention as soon as you see a passage; Remember your next 5 mins can increase/decrease your score by 5 points; Incorrect passage understanding can cost you consecutive 3-4 questions, hope you know the penalty for consecutive wrongs. 2) After every paragraph make a summary, for ex: Para 1: Author is introducing an issue & describing it. Para 2: Causes of problem & current soln. Para 3: Issues with current soln & other solns 3) Make overall summary; Discuss an issue & issues with existing solns. 4) Always go for POE in RC; Read all the options carefully, you will definitely find an incorrect/overstating word. Go from wrong to right. 5) Be Cautious for whole 7-8 mins of an RC.
Critical Reasoning:
1)Identify the conclusion first; Goes in hindi : Are bhai kehna kya chahte ho. 2) Understand the meaning of Assumption, Strengthener, weakener & Evaluation. 3) Always use Negation test in Assumption question; Negation will shatter the conclusion. 4) In Strengthen question think what will increase my belief in the conclusion; Either it would be plug the assumption airtight or give a theory supporting conclusion. 5) In Weaken question think what will decrease my belief in the conclusion; Either it would be shatter the assumption airtight or give a theory opposing the conclusion or reverse the cause effect relationship. 6) BOLDFACE: identify what is it; A Claim(Opinion, Position, Conclusion(IM/MC)) , A fact, A solution or general statement. Next Identify what role does it play: Supports or opposes the Conclusion(IM/MC) 7) INFERENCE/FIB : Identify what is required; Strengthener or Weakener.
