Thanks for the replies but given my current standard and given that (right use of parallelism?) I continue to work on SC, what is the "effort vs time" if i am targetting 750 around?

SC is just a part of the overall test and your effort vs time would not totally guarantee you a 750. All I'd say if your basics are right just hit out a set of 25-30 questions everyday till the test day. There was a file posted in the forum that had a very nice collection of 700+ level SC questions from the old GMAT prep CD. I am not sure if it's still in here but they are a very good practice set. Keep a log of the mistakes and learnings and read it few days before your test.
