Hello All,
I recently took the GMAT and scored a total of 400- 20 on each section. I've been using Veritas preparation for the past 6 months or so. I've got about 6 weeks before the next application round to the MBA program I'm interested in. I'm not sure how I can utilize my time most efficiently in the next 6 weeks to significantly improve my score. I need to achieve at least a 600 for the program I will be applying for.
Any suggestions would be great.

Hey bstr,
I finished my online Veritas course a few months ago and have been studying as well for my exam coming up. I found it helpful to go back through the on-demand lectures that I felt weak at (for me this was all of the verbal stuff). Reinforcing those concepts really seemed to help me. I would definitely recommend completing all of the homework for each section (problem sets increase in difficulty).
Last, I would try to see where your errors are (error logs are very common and can be super helpful). Do you not understand the overall concept? Or is it a more subtle point that you missed in the question? Breaking it down to conceptual v. specific issues can help to identify what you know and what you don't know really fast.

I'd like to know a bit more about this Official Score and how you've been studying:
1) On Test Day, did you finish any sections early? Did you have to rush to finish questions at the end of a section because you were low on time? Did you run out of time and leave any questions unanswered?
2) Was there any point in which you started to feel tired or had trouble focusing?
3) How were you scoring on your practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT every time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
Thankfully, Business Schools don't care if you take the GMAT more than once, so retesting is not a problem. Before you retake the GMAT though, some serious work will probably have to be done. Improving your score 200 points in 6 weeks will be a challenge.
