Hi all,
I've been hearing on these boards that a stronger verbal helps you more than stronger quant score, because the verbal section is generally considered harder (hence the wider spread). What is a "stronger" verbal score -- a higher percentile or a higher scaled score? If I'm getting around Q47-48 (high 70 percentile) and V42-43 (95-97 percentile)... is it better to focus on math, given the lower percentile or verbal, given the lower scaled score? I feel like I'm at the point where it's pretty hard to move the needle on either, but I'm not even sure which to focus on. So confused...

The answer to your question also depends on why you are taking the GMAT.
If you want to apply to a Quant heavy MBA and want to speacilise in Finance then I would say with a 42-43 in Verbal you need to get that Quant up to around 49-50.
If your goal is just to maximise your GMAT score then I guess a 47 on V will improve it more than a 49 on Q will.

Try GMATClub Tests - there are 25 of them. After going through them I am pretty sure you would come up to Q49+.
