Yes, it is absolutely. But the Cats need to be in that plan, its a MUST!
I got a 490 on my first CAT, GMAT PREP btw, and improved greatly from a a very similar plan. You have to take CATs that simulate test conditions, write those essays and time the breaks,
THe test is over 3 hours so i would try to study that much at a time as much as possible to build endurance.

I should have done a little worse but I think building the endurance helped me a lot, I was 100% when finished my test. That helped me a lot

To put it simply:

Buckle down and git'r done. I went through the same thing with different circumstances:

HIGH travel schedule for work, (then) pregnant wife, high demand from family (both mine and hers). YOU must make it work, make the time and achieve the desired results.

It sounds very cliche, but you are your own road block. Read my debrief for what I did to get through it.

The MGMAT CAT is really hard. I scored a 770 on the GMAT Prep but barely scraped a 700 on the first MGMAT. A bit unorthodox, but I felt that MGMAT SC didn't help me all that much. It just threw so much information at my face that I was finding it hard to decipher the meaningful stuff from it. It's still a great comprehensive resource, but perhaps a bit too detailed for my liking. I used Aristotle Prep's SC Grail and found that it actually made much more sense and was much easier to read through. It's only a PDF. If not, you can even refer the the Manhattan Review website where they have a free SC Review PDF that goes through all the main points. So I'd suggest skimming through that first and then going through MGMAT for places where you need further clarification.

The OG might be good practice for you, but for additional practice you could consider the Veritas Prep Guides. They have a bunch of practice questions that are actually quite good. If not, try searching the forum by tags once you're done studying the strategy. Practice maketh perfect.

I had another form of focus issue. I used to finish my Quant section with 30 minutes to spare and then just get really bored on the Verbal and just start guessing answers to RC and CR without really paying attention to it (and I'd finish with like 20 minutes to spare and end up with a 670-700). I realized I was being stupid and just sucked it up and sat through the exam, as much as possible when I took the GMAT Prep. I took notes for RC and read each CR carefully and thoroughly. And I got a 47 on the Verbal, which is my highest till date.

I think that it's possible to get a 650 in your case, with the materials you mentioned provided you study in a focused and effective manner. Quality > Quantity :)

Thanks for the advice!

I realize I can be better focussed and still improve tremendously over the next 2 weeks before my test. I have been getting worried about SC so I took your advice on Aristotle's SC guide and purchased it. Hopefully it will help! Planning to do a fair bit of SC over the next couple of days + quant review.

Thanks again

No problem. Feel free to message me in case you have further questions. I'm in the process of putting together a document for SC like I did for CR (but without the elaborate examples and such). I'll start a thread in the SC forum when I post that online; maybe that will be of some use to you as well. :)

Thanks for the heads up on your CR notes. I downloaded that as well. Will take a look at that tomorrow. I need to improve by 100 points in 2 weeks and hopefully these little steps will do the trick :) (I'd be more than happy to get your 'practice' scores) :D
