I think I jumped into this without thinking.
I hired a tutor thinking that anyone could teach me quant since I'm so terrible at it. Supposedly the tutor has been a huge success amongst their students. But here are my gripes:
1 - Working with a tutor is like taking a class over again. Literally, every session we go over problems of different levels and am given homework. How do other tutoring sessions go?
2 - My tutor has never taught a class. I think asking "Makes sense?" is not a good indicator of how you're progressing. I'm going to say yes for two reasons: (1) I think that I can probably work this out off the clock/when I'm not paying you and (2) I may think I actually get it until I see it again. I dislike INTENSELY when I am asked this.
Is anyone else working with a tutor? Can anyone provide a more efficient way on working with a tutor where I think it's productive??
Add'l information: I am taking the
MGMAT class on top of hiring a tutor. Which, I still think is a waste of time. I would tell you to go through the entire class first, work on your own and hire a tutor to correct any of your mistakes. If anyone thinks any different, please let me know. Thanks!!
