Hey everyone,
I started studying for the GMAT just over a month ago. I took the first GMATPrep test on June 3 with no studying at all and got a score of 500(27V/32Q). I’ve worked though all of the quant
MGMAT books and done the corresponding questions in the OG. I’ve kept an
error log and got a lot of questions wrong, but I haven’t worked through looking at all of the solutions yet. While there are some concepts in problem solving that I am weak in, my biggest weakness is definitely data sufficiency.
I retook the first GMATPrep exam today, as I wanted to do a direct comparison. None of the questions looked familiar from my first try, and my score this time was 560(26V/41Q). There are definitely some concepts that I need to review in quant, but I think that I need to work on improving my verbal first. I guess my main question is whether or not this seems like good progress? I have good grammar skills for the most part and do well on papers in my studies, so hopefully I can improve my verbal score with some review and studying with the 3
MGMAT guides.
I have not yet registered, but it looks like August 18th will be the date for my GMAT, so I still have 6 weeks. My minimum score is 550, but I would like to score as high as possible, of course. Does it seem realistic to still have enough time to study verbal, and review AWA and quant? I plan on periodically taking the
MGMAT CAT tests as well as the GMATPrep ones.
Thanks for the input! ☺
