Is a Q50 possible with 9 incorrect answers? I got 9 incorrect in the quant section in GMATPrep and still got a 50. Looked a little odd to me.

Yeah I would say this could still be possible, I've seen 11 wrong answers get a 49 and 7 wrong get a 50. So that is right down the middle. The scoring is a mystery best left to the computer to solve, but based on the points and value of the more important questions, it is certainly possible to still pull off a good score with 9 quant questions wrong.

It's best to leave the scoring to the algorithm. In fact, I would go as far as saying that it's none of test takers business
