my advice, is give yourself 2 chances at the test, putting all of that pressure on 1 attempted could really mess with stress on test day. I'd say take your first crack at it at the end of Jan, and give yourself 31 days to take it a second time if needed.

You never know what could happen on test day, dont want to make everything ride on 1 attempt. Just my advice though, you'd still have 2 months before the first try.

i think practice is key speaking from experience.

after u get the maths basics right, u must start on practice. just keep practicing until u internalise the maths concepts.

i noticed practicing verbal is tough, the questns really bore me.

i used to dedicate only the weekends and put in hours. it made me hate GMAT and hated the wkends.

gradually i found out that it is better to do it everyday. so every nite, i did short bursts of 10-15 questions. on wkends, i do more sessions of this "short bursts".

just keep it current so that you do not have days where there is no GMAT. it will turn rusty pretty soon.

i am still practicing for my re-test (thinking)...

Your plan sounds fine except for the fact that going from one of the Kaplan foundations books to OG might be a big step , because for the most part the foundations books talk about the real basic stuff and the OG is more of a practice guide rather than a strategy guide .
