I have been studying like crazy for the past 3 weeks since I took the GMAT, (580, Q39, V31) approximately 4-5 hours a day. No days off.
I keep getting the exact same results over and over and over again.
Real GMAT 3 weeks ago: 580, Q39, V31
MGMAT 2, 10 days ago: 580, Q39, V31
MGMAT 3, TODAY: 580, Q39, V31
What in the world is going on here? I really don't get it. Why am I not improving one bit?
All my areas are week except maybe SC. RC and Cr are my worst areas right now. I have read so much about how to take notes for RC questions and so on so on but taking notes takes WAY TOO MUCH TIME! I can't start jotting things down about every paragraph. I simply don't have the time.
I am a hopeless case? This GMAT thing is incredibly frustrating for me because I have always been a great student so one would think I am NOT stupid. I have a perfect undergraduate GPA and a perfect graduate GPA and I am pretty sure that I did not get that many As because my professors thought I was pretty or whatever.... I earned my As!
Why can I not succeed in getting a decent GMAT score? I am feeling really down right now because it obviously doesn't matter how much time I put in. I am very consistent in scoring at the exact same level.
Help? Advice? Anyone with a word of wisdom?
Dear
Silviax,
I'm happy to help.
My friend, I'm curious what exactly "
studying like crazy" means. Plowing through study materials without time for proper reflection and integration will not necessarily lead to learning. For deep learning, conscientiousness is worth much more than efficiency. Remember that learning, especially at this level, is a non-linear process: a fixed amount of effort does not always lead to fixed increase in performance. Don't give up. You have to work to push yourself to deeper and deeper levels of understanding and simply trust that results will come.
I would say, one of the best ways to improve for GMAT RC is, not surprising, to read. See this blog
