Regarding best study material for GMAT

Question

Hi Guys

I prepared for gmat for about 2 months and got 630. I tried to improve my score by taking the mocks again and again and doing the OG , but it is not helping. Then I took about a month's break and now I am planning to start my prep again.
I have already done OG about twice and have done one of the coaching center's material too but its not helping. I am planning to go for new set of study material.
I have about 2 months and want to achieve 700 score. I would be having around 2-3 hours of time daily and weekends. 
 Can anybody suggest me what will the best study material to go for?

Hi shailja2505, The best way to identify a good course is by going through the reviews of the course. You can get the reviews here: https://gmatclub.com/reviews/gmat_courses?fl=menu Going by scores, I think you need to go through the fundamentals before starting of with problem solving. Merely solving a number of problems and not learning from them might tho help. 1. What were you sectional scores? 2. What were you scores in the mock CATs? You need to build the concepts/fundamentals before you jump in solving the problems. You can do so by choosing one of the following ways: 1. In person classes/private tutoring 2. Online classes 3. Self paced online preparatory course 4. Book heavy approach Whatever you choose, make sure that you choose one. Because GMAT tests you on some concepts and fundamentals that you can learn from a course. Most of the preparatory companies including ours offer a free trial of our course. You can take the trial and see if the course suits your needs. In addition to the preparatory material, buy the Official Guides(both the Official Guide and the Verbal Review), Question Pack 1 and the 4 official mock CATs. They should be an indispensable part of your preparation. You need close to 3 months to prepare well for the GMAT.

1) When did you take the Official GMAT?
2) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores when you scored 630?
3) What materials have you used? What classes have you taken?

4) What is your exact Test Date?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

The fact that you have studied for so long, and haven't seen increases in your scores might indicate a problem with your study habits.

As you study, we recommend that you focus on quality over quantity.

Doing hundreds of hundreds of more questions without really understanding the concepts or the booby traps that you’re falling into will not necessarily get you where you want to be.

Try going back to previous questions and seeing if you can answer them with ease. The more you can answer correctly, the more likely it is that you understand the material.

Use this as a guideline. You don’t have to follow it exactly but the structure of the study plan should be the same structure that you take in your approach. This helps to optimize your retention and learning.
