I have appeared for GMAT exam on 24 Dec, 2016. Since I am not satisfied with my score, I am planning to retake the exam.
As per GMAT rules, a candidate can retake the exam every 16 calendar days from first attempt. When I try to schedule appointment, there is no such validation on website that prevents me from booking an earlier date. For example, I can schedule my GMAT on 30 Dec, a date that is less than 16 days from date of attempt.
Hence, before booking my GMAT appointment, I want to make sure that I am adhering to GMAT rules. I want to retake GMAT as early as possible.
Can I retake my GMAT on 10th January, 2016(which is 24 Dec + 17 days)?
Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi Pratik,
Yes, you should be able to retake the GMAT on January 10th. However, there's some question as to whether you should rush back in to retest or not. If you scored significantly lower than your goal score, then retesting so quickly likely won't give you the necessary time to hone your skills and actually score at a higher level (if you're not careful, you'll just end up treating the GMAT in the same way that you did before and scoring at the same level). Before we can figure out when would be the best time for you to retest, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) How have you scored on the Official GMAT (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
Goals:
5) What is your goal score?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich,
Thanks for your quick response. I still went ahead with retaking the GMAT and gave it a shot. As it turned out I almost scored the same as my previous attempt.
My goal score is 740. Previously I had studied for 6months, and I scored above 670 in mock tests, and 710 in GMAT prep tests.
After a gap of 4 months, I have started my prep again. I am targeting to appear for GMAT by 2nd week of June.
