I was practicing reading comprehension from
https://gmatofficialprep.mba.com which is the official source for GMAT
After practicing I saw under my performance summary that average difficulty level of questions was 2.27. How to interpret this ?
An average difficulty level of 2.27 would translate to how much in the actual GMAT?
So here is how it works:
1.
Easy questions have a difficulty rating of
1.
2.
Medium questions have a difficulty rating of
2.
3.
Hard questions have a difficulty rating of
3.
2.27 means that you were doing questions that were, on average, slightly above average difficulty. It sounds very precise and z-score ish, but it is really just a very approximate and unreliable estimate of the difficulty level of the questions you did

Method used: You can also confirm this. Form 3 sets of questions, with (a) only easy questions, (b) only medium difficulty questions, and (c) only hard questions and then check the figures in the progress report. The 3 figures will be (a) 1.00, (b) 2.00, and (c) 3.00.
