Well, I have been there. Trust me, taking a diagnostic test would only familiarize you more with the test format and the time constraints. You don't need to ace this test anyway. Just give yourself some room and hit that '"start mock" button. You always have GMAT Club to address your future concerns.

yes you are correct. First mock give you direction, motivation and present status of the aspirant. the candidate can plan accordingly and take the next step to improve the weaker sections.

Hi - just started studying myself and am using the 6th edition Manhattan Prep guides - I bought them over a year ago. I just took my first practice exam today and scored way below what I hoped (490) but I also haven’t really studied at all. I took two online classes through Manhattan prep in the last week prior to taking the practice. I have been told that no matter how sucky it sounds or feels, taking a practice CAT before you start seriously studying is key to establishing a baseline, no matter how “low” that baseline is. Most of the gmat is being able to master your nerves, anxiety, confidence and timing while taking the test, so I think taking the practice before you start diving deep into studies is worth it!
