Tips to ace the GMAT and get 730 - 750

Question

Hi everyone,

I am aiming to get a GMAT score of 750. I have gone through the OG Verbal and Quant guides for 2019 and gave my first mock GMAT test on GMAT prep. I got 750 (Q 49 and V 45) , but my accuracy is not that high yet.

I plan to give my exam on July 22nd leaves me about 2 months to study , I am considering taking the E- GMAT course for both verbal and Quant. Do you have any other suggestions / advice?

Do you also recommend the Manhattan SC guide ? Where can I download / purchase the latest version of that ?

Strategy

You can start with Quant or Verbal which suits you. If you have started with Quant then Start with the Arithmetic but if started with verbal then start first with Sentence correction. One month for learning Quant concepts and one month for practicing question and same practice for Verbal. During you Practicing question don't forget to make an error log to track your weak areas after practice. Once you know your weak areas revise your Concepts related to those areas and do some more Practice. 6-8 CATs are enough for practice the real tests. Make your Stamina for sitting 3 hours in the test and don't study more than 2 hours in one sit and 4 hours per day

Regarding prep courses, in addition to seeking advice in this thread, take a look at the GMAT Club reviews for  the best quant  and  verbal courses , and also read through some  GMAT success stories  to see what materials have worked well for other test-takers.

Hi Ruchira,

To start, a 750/Q49/V45 is an exceptionally high result for an initial CAT - so assuming that you took this CAT in a realistic fashion, then you are already a really strong critical thinker (and by extension, you might not need any Course-related resources to hit your Score Goal). Before I can offer any additional advice for your studies, I have a few questions about your studies so far and your goals:

1) Have you taken this CAT before (or seen any of the questions before; for example - in the forums here)?
2) Did you take this CAT in a realistic fashion (in one sitting, with no pauses, etc.)?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
