I have been taking GMAT mocks for some time. I used to make 10- 12 mistakes in verbal and 2- 4 in Quant. My score has been fixed at Q50-51 and V 38. Today I had an official mock test and found only 6 mistakes in Verbal and 2 in quant. However in this case again the score came Q50V38.

Please give some advice/ clue what is happening here.

DOn't worry. Your real score may differ, but it won't differ much from your GMAT Prep score. Just do practice a lot.

The GMAT scoring algorithm doesn't work the same way as a standard test... in fact, the test doesn't look at the number you got right when it calculates your score. (It's true that people who get very high scores will usually have more right answers than people who get very low scores, but that's more of a side effect than the actual cause of their score!)

Here's why, and some light research into the numbers: https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/blog ... an-i-miss/

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. To reiterate, your GMAT score is based on not only the number of questions you answer correct/incorrect, but also the difficulty of those questions, among other things. Thus, since you incorrectly answered only 6 verbal questions and scored V38, you likely incorrectly answered some “lower-level” questions.

If you need any further advice, feel free to reach out. Good luck!
