GMAT (physical test centre) cancelled 24 hours before the exam

Question

Hi,

I just checked my email hoping to look for COVID related instructions for my GMAT which is scheduled for tomorrow and saw email from Pearson Vue that my exam has been cancelled. However, on my mba.com profile it still says scheduled. I tried calling the centre but it closes at 5 PM so they are not picking up. Have dropped an email to them in hope of getting some clarity.
Has anyone else faced this?

Assuming that that is a genuine email, then that is unfortunate news. Given the impact of the Covid-19 virus around the world, the situation that you are facing has likely impacted many other GMATers as well.

How close are you to the actual testing facility and what time is/was your GMAT scheduled for? If you cannot confirm this situation in any other way, then it might be that the only practical way to know for sure whether your Appointment has been cancelled or not would be to physically go down to the Test Center tomorrow and see if it is open.

Hi, 
I was able to confirm the status of my exam on the morning of D-Day, and it indeed was cancelled. Test center folks said there were issues in the Pearson software hence they are not able to load the test. I also received another email from Pearson later in the day that they have suspended testing at the designated test center due to health concerns. I luckily found another slot while rescheduling for next week and the centre is much closer this time. Hope everything goes well as this would be my 3rd attempt at trying to give a test on test centre.

It's good to hear that you were able to reschedule your appointment (and at a closer Facility!). Considering how the Covid-19 virus is impacting the opening/closing of Facilities around the world, you should make a point to confirm that your next Test Center is actually open and administering Exams before you head down there on Test Day.

How did your test go btw.

I am facing a similar issue. 
My test centre cancelled the test and it is also updated in the website. I dont think they will be off much help in rescheduling the test. I was supposed to write it on 31st Dec and apparently since it is holidays they wont be working until 29th.

Please let me know. How and who should I contact?
