If you are only using the official guide, then that's the problem. OG is a great source for practice but doesn't have the material to teach you. You need to improve both your quant and verbal scores and I think the problem lies in the fundamentals and conceptual knowledge. You need to study from the basics and build up. By just solving questions you will not strength your concepts.

I would recommend using a prep course, maybe not a tutor but just an online course. Here are my recommendations of some of the best ones I found through extensive research:
Quant: TTP (they also offer verbal beta version now)
Verbal: Egmat (they have both verbal and quant but best for verbal)
Overall: Veritas Prep

What I liked most about TTP is that they have a short study plan, which personalizes the course to your needs and shortens to fit your timeline. I haven't taken the TTP or Egmat courses myself as I found out about them a bit later and I had already started my prep with Veritas, which is also pretty great but a little more expensive. I like Veritas as it goes over the fundamentals pretty well (might not be ideal for everyone as it can be time-consuming) but it works. Also before you start with any course, I would recommend you take their trial version of all the course and try them all out. You can also check out the course review section on gmatclub to know more about various courses from others' experiences. https://gmatclub.com/reviews/gmat_courses/?fl=menu

Go through Gmat club to see what you can apply to your study. Its a vast pool of information. I spent 1 week just doing that. :P

Hello Prerak,

Many test aspirants are unhappy with their initial practice test scores. The reason behind it is due to either lack of a detailed study plan or some unreliable resources. The GMAT is not that easy as we assume. Raising score from 500 to 700+ is realistic. But it requires consistency, self-belief, a detailed study plan, Unique, alternative approaches, and Up-To-Date questions.

As a GMAT instructor, I will request you write me back with your latest score with a breakup (Verbal/Quant) to assist you better. But, if you took the test a week ago, then I will request you to visit our website: https://www.mathrevolution.com and taking the free diagnostic test.

Considering your present score of 500, we have two plans for you, which you must follow to reach your target score. Finding your target score as 700, remember various possible combinations to achieve a score of 700 or above: V37/Q50, V39/Q49, V43/Q45.
.
Plan 1: Basic concept building --- try 600 level question--- take mock test ---- learn alternative methods and shortcuts ---- try 700+ level question --- take mock tests.

For Verbal– Revise your grammar basics by GMAT grammar book or Aristotle grail for sentence correction. For RC and CR, try solving the 700+ level question.

For Math, yes, basics are musts. You should visit our website https://www.mathrevolution.com to check our free trial lessons and free videos.
To strengthen the basic concept on various topics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems, you should opt for a 5-hour Math Review lesson. Solve as many questions as you can relate to different topics. You may take an online course where you may ask as many questions you have, or you may consider private tutoring as well.

Plan 2: Once your basics are strong, we recommend learning quick and alternative approaches to solve questions to save you the time. Q 51 shortcut will help you do so.

Regular tests will reflect the positive change in the score, and hence, your confidence will boost up. Keep checking your performance by taking mock tests.

We will be waiting for your reply.
You can reach us at [email protected].

Success is within your reach.
Good luck!
