Any suggestion for good GMAT tutorials. My main concern area is verbal. Is Magoosh premium good enough for verbal? Any suggestion is welcome
e-gmat is very good for non-natives.Also 30-days Trial is available.
Empower-Gmat also teaches good methods, offers 1-hour trial.

nidhipoddar31, you can find all the reviews here at https://gmatclub.com/reviews/gmat_courses/?fl=menu; however, I personally like e-GMAT. Just as Kinshook said, it covers topics of both Quants and especially Verbal in depth and follows a structured approach towards teaching and learning.

Hi Nidhi, best way would be to do few trial classes with few service providers and then go with whatever you're more comfortable with.

Obviously, instructor's command over the subject and your comfort level in the class, matter the most.

Hi nidhipoddar31,

Based on your first post in the forums, you've been studying for about 3 weeks so far - and you mentioned that you had used the Manhattan SC book - but you didn't provide any other information about your studies, timeline or goals. To help make sure that you are working with the appropriate study materials, it would help if you could provide some information in all of those areas:
Studies:
1) How many hours have you studied each week? Have you been working on anything besides SC?
2) What study materials do you currently have access to?
3) Have you taken any practice CATs/mocks yet? If you have, then how did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Any suggestion for good GMAT tutorials. My main concern area is verbal. Is Magoosh premium good enough for verbal? Any suggestion is welcome

Hi nidhipoddar31,

I understand that Verbal questions can be very tricky. To score well on Verbal, you need to have a strong conceptual understanding and use the right strategies. Test makers set a lot of traps and confuse students by using similar words in answer choices. To eliminate the wrong answer choices on solid grounds and choose the right one, you need to have a clear understanding of the concepts and use the right methodologies. For example, while solving CR questions, it is important to understand the scope of the passage, the premises and the conclusion. Test makers often frame incorrect answer choices on the following lines:
  • Out of scope
  • Generic conclusions
  • Not always true
  • Opposite choices

If you look at the types of options, you will realize that it is important to understand the individual elements of the passage and then jump into pre-thinking. So, I recommend you to look for a course which teaches you not only the concepts but also the methodologies to solve the questions. If you are open to suggestions, I recommend you to check the Verbal course of GMATWhiz. GMATWhiz has a very unique way of teaching Verbal concepts. The first unit focuses on the strategy and the next units focus on individual topics. This way, you can apply the methodology right from the learning stage itself.

To get a gist of the structure of the course, you can check out the free trial as well. If you want to get in touch and discuss a few things about the study strategy, you can do the same by connecting over a call with me. I'll share the link for the same at the end of this post. Below is the success story of one of our students who improved his Verbal score to a 38 by scoring 97 percentile on CR.
