I wrote the extended online Gmat test on 11th July. This was my second online test. I took the first one on 2nd May and it went pretty smoothly with no difficulties.
However, my experience with the extended online test was very bad. I experienced the worst thing a test taker could experience. I started with AWA and I noticed that the system was lagging and my text was appearing after a big lag. This made it very difficult to write the AWA and to constantly keep a check on what I was typing. If I mistyped any word then I had to wait till the word appeared on the screen and then I had to move back to correct that. The system was getting stuck and I could not focus on the essay and got very nervous. I had to keep the essay short and finish it a minute earlier so that the system does not get stuck and I do end up with an unfinished sentence at the end.
I continued to the IR section and I continued facing the challenges. I had to click on next several times before the test actually moved to the next question. This was very frustrating and all of this made me very nervous. I informed the proctor after the IR section that I am facing such a challenge.
I continued to the quant and verbal section and the system kept getting stuck and I kept losing on time. I was surprised that this is happening in one of the most valued tests. I had prepared for several months only to face a technical glitch. I have written to Gmac about this. Let's see what do they have to say on this. But one thing is clear that if you are going for an extended online Gmat test then be prepared for the worst.

I took my test on 10th July and I've had the same experience as you. I've written to GMAC as well. Please keep this thread informed in case of any further developments and I shall do the same.

You will most probably get a free test coupon from them . But it might take some time for them to reply back to your mail. But don't worry they will reply.

I have read that many people have had similar experience. I am wondering why GMAC has not addressed this problem.

I hope I get it. Ideally I should and everybody should, who have faced such challenges. Also, GMAC must look into this very seriously. Booking a date for the test is a big task because one has to manage his or her work schedule accordingly and if such technical glitch happens on the test day then the entire planning goes for a toss.

The exact same experience - might be worth noting that I would not recommend the online GMAT Exam to anyone. I have also sent an email so will update this thread if I receive a reply.

I faced the same issue during my last test on 18-Jul-2021. There was a big lag while typing in the AWA section. Whatever I typed would magically appear on the screen after a delay of 5 seconds.

It was the same for me. I had to click on the answer choices or on the next button several times but nothing would happen.
I have written to GMAC as well and am still waiting for them to reply.

Got a reply from them today and they're refunding the exam fee as well as the exam attempt. My score will be removed and will show up as a technical error. Happy with the outcome - but it took them ~3 weeks to get back to me.

I have also received a response from GMAC, which has offered to cancel my score and give me a voucher for another attempt. Since I don't want my score to be cancelled, I have decided to not take up the offer.
