Can't Improve GMAT Pacing. Need Help.

Question

I recently gave 2 GMAT mocks (Not GmatPrep), My accuracy was fine. But just in an attempt to maintain the accuracy in the initial 10 questions, my pacing goes haywire, especially in the VERBAL section. I don't even get to the last 10-12 questions on verbal and the last 4 on quant. Can someone please help me with some tips/advice/links etc., It would really help me improve my score.

Hi tangokilo23,

Many GMATers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems. Most GMAT questions are written so that they can be approached in more than one way - and if you frequently have to 'rush' through the last 10-12 questions in the Verbal section, then it's likely that "your way" of approaching at least one of the major Verbal categories (RC, SC and CR) is the "long way." Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
