I am really sorry to disrupt the group discussion but I really needed some guidance. I had also applied for the MSc in Management programme at University College Dublin, Smurfit. Does anyone have any insight to the programme offerings and how does it compare to the other programs out there?
Hi
ParitoshRawat99 A quick suggestion: get in touch with a counsellor or consulting service - they will definitely help you out way better.
To answer your query, most pre-experience programs (in this case MiMs) are similar to their core, with some differentiating factors, which all boil down to the school itself. Eventually you'll have to open up the school website and check the brochure and see what fits well with you. For example, ESCP, or other French schools focus a lot on learning by doing, and have internships/apprenticeships within the curriculum, further have a duration of 2-3 years, while UCD or Trinity, or most colleges in Ireland, have a masters course duration of 1 year (except I think - I am not sure - the CEMS MiM at UCD is 1.5 years or so) and they do not have internships within the curriculum. It really boils down to what you want, what kind of a country you'd want to work in (Ireland is English speaking while working in France needs you to have some fluency in French).
So to overall tell you a broad comparison - you could look over ft rankings or qs rankings and check that. However such a ranking or comparison would not account for the most important factor - i.e. you - what do you want? what are you looking for? what are your career aspirations and what kind of a curriculum fits more in line with your learning approach. So once again, its very subjective and at the end of the day really depends on you. I do not know of any consulting/counselling services but I am hoping you can surely find someone in the field on this forum and have a deeper discussion at length on the choice of your programs.
Cheers.
