Hi,

I am having trouble with pacing in both verbal and quant sections.

In verbal I was able to reach question no 30 and in quants i was able to reach question number 24.

Since i was not able to complete the question paper in time.. i incurred penalty and got to 26 and 40 scores respectively .. whereas my scores would have been 38 and 49 respectively.

Kindly suggest how to tackle this issue.

I am having trouble with pacing in both verbal and quant sections.

Using some time markers may be helpful. Perhaps strategically skipping a question with quick educated answering sometimes to bring yourself back on time.

Some questions must have taken longer than others. These questions must have been questions you found more difficult, questions with which you were struggling.

What you need to do: Abandon such questions quickly, rather than allowing them to suck up time. Make an educated guess and move on.

Missing harder questions will have less effect on your score; missing easier questions or leaving questions unanswered will reduce your score more.

As you practise more, as your skills and efficiency increase, you will need to abandon fewer questions. But even top scorers must be prepared to abandon questions at times.
