Hi MartyTargetTestPrep

I attended the live classes with one of the platforms in India for 4 weeks

VERBAL-
1) It started with direct questions and answers discussion in which they discussed the ans of a pre work assigned before in classes
2) Next task was to attempt questions for the next class and this is how processed went
3)After this they have dedicated forum where practice question were there but to be honest i was in acccuracy of 60% overall(Easy-95%,Medium -60%,Hard-25%)
I did around 20 SC,20CR,2 RC passage daily basis for sure and then reviewed why ans were wrong and from GMAT club as well
4) Struggling mainly to read long passages and analysis(my personal opinion)
It sounds as if you need to learn more Verbal concepts and strategies and practice Verbal a LOT more. You need to learn and practice until your Verbal accuracies are at E 95%, M 90%, H - 70%+.

For a detailed discussion of how to master GMAT Verbal, see this post.

How to Score High on GMAT Verbal

Quote:
Quants-
1) Course path was same as verbal
2)After classes, I finished all my question given by the platform mostly OG questions
3)struggling with timing here too and hard questions
4) Currently preparing from Manhattan Advance quant book
It sounds as if you need to do more topic-focused practice to master Quant. Also, for weaker topics, you may need to study fundamentals as well.

For some insights into how to practice for the GMAT for best results, see this post.

Hi… sorry about the lack of progress and a week score. How did you feel your studying was going? I assume you were doing some kind of exercises and learning and all of those things. Did you make a lot of mistakes in your questions or not finish the course?

Do you have not taken any test before hand? How can you study for months and not measure your progress? 😬

gave first official mock and i scored a 620(V29,Q47),I m just disheartened with my score as I m targeting at-least 720-730

May be worth checking out some of the different Q/V combos that can hit your target. You're probably going to want someone thing close to V40.

Have suggested Manhattan-Prep's 6th Edition for SC and CR to students. If you're interested in working with a study buddy, there's a gmatclub to find one you can check out/sign up to. For time management, using time markers may also be helpful.

Hi thedarkestgenre,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What study materials have you used so far? Have you taken any other CATs/mocks besides this one Official CAT?
2) If you took any other CATs/mocks, then on what dates (or approximate dates) did you do so and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi thedarkestgenre,

To start, since you are interested in at least one highly-competitive Program, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

I've also sent you a PM with some notes and additional questions.

If you are considering using another test prep resource, most courses offer free or low-cost trials, so you could try a few out before deciding how to move forward.
