Starting my GMAT Prep, suggestion for verbal?

Question

Hi! I’m planning to give GMAT by July first week and I’m currently using TTP. I have 2 questions -
 1. Ideally by when should I book my test? 
2. What the best available resource to understand and learn verbal strategies? I’m unsatisfied with TTP verbal.

Hi KS9890 , for verbal resources, you can take a look at this post: best-gmat-verbal-books-217254.html You can also take a look at this sub-forum: verbal-guides-and-resources-389/ GMAT Ninja’s guides and videos on Youtube are also highly recommended. For books, yes PowerScore CR Bible is usually highly recommended by high scorers, along with Manhattan CR guide (or All the Verbal as the latest edition which combines its previously separate CR and RC books). No need to get both PowerScore and Manhattan though, as they are similar.

Hi, 
for Verbal, I would suggest do not go for multiple resources you get. you will get confused, more or less most methods are same but in different formats and it makes u tired. I would suggest for RC go for GMAT ninja videos then follow it religiously and you will get better. For CR if you have toponepercent resource, or manage to get from friend, it is good. For me Best way to do CR is by practice question types one by one. Go for GMATClub videos on YouTube or Questions by videos type.

For CR, consider checking out/including Manhattan-Prep's 6th Edition for Critical Reasoning. Fair to say practicing with/including official questions into a prep path (e.g. from the Official-Guide 2024) would be a solid choice regardless.

If CR is your area of concern, you might want to consider our Critical Reasoning book  Critical Reasoning Nirvana , which is perhaps the  only  book that offers a score improvement  guarantee .

After reading the book  twice  (yes! it's an  academic  book, and so must be read twice in all seriousness, to  reinforce  the concepts), you will start looking forward to solving CR questions!
