GMAT online courses - any experience?

Question

Does anyone have personal experience with "live" online GMAT courses? I am specifically looking into the KAPLAN live online course ("GMAT Advantage: Anywhere"); however I am interested in feedback on this style of course in general, or other recommendations. I have limited access to on-site classroom courses which I would prefer. If you have taken one of these on-line courses, how did you find the access to the instructor, ability to ask questions, seek clarification etc.?

well according to me i find knewton good..There teachers are friendly,nice and always ready to answer ur questions..also they give support.u can send in ur question and they will reply back in 24 hrs with solution...Their course is of 690$ value also they have various discounts every month..method of teaching is easy to understand...
u can also try there free trial class for a week before taking ur decision to join or not..although u may find there math questions a bit easy at times but there verbal is good..in case u miss any class u can view there on demand archive video for that class and cover up or u can change ur class schedule to another class to cover up live..
Course access is for one year...

i will suggest to try one class session for free and then decide whether to go for knewton or kaplan..
try to take advantage of gmat club discount offer for knewton if u want ...

After getting bitten by worst course in the GMAT town, I opted for KNEWTON few weeks back and I have attended the first 3 classes of Knewton and I’m writing this with my experience till now.

Teaching style:

Though Knewton teaches through online, but till now I never felt that I’m not class. Teachers are helping and try to solve each and every problem you face in class effectively.

I really liked Knewton. It gave me the flexibility to study at my own pace. It was extremely convenient and offered really good resources. It's also nice that you can watch all of the classes over again for the whole year.

Study material:

There are more than 3400 questions to be solved in knewton course! 5 CATs nearer to the real GMAT. Knewton has good feature of pretest and retest (after the class) to know what you have gained in the class. The whole course consists of watching videos (live or pre-recorded) taking quizzes, doing homework, taking assignments; there is much to do with Knewton. I'm loving it!

Moreover, the questions are standardized and near to the real GMAT questions. Knewton has really a great staff supporting you all the time and responding to your emails within less than an hour! Yes, I got replies of my queries in less than an hour.

Thank you for the feedback, it's very helpful. I will look into Knewton and the option of the free trial, I just realized I can also do a free trial with Kaplan. Probably best to try them out first.

I took the Manhattan GMAT, online live course, they had a bunch of different times and the course was three hours long. It cost me 1000 to take, but in all honesty I probably would have paid double for what I got out of it. They break the verbal into three sections, Critical Reasoning, Reading Comp, and sentence correction giving you 1 book for each, then they break the Quant into I think 5 different books with so much information that you are prepared for any question that is thrown at you. The Instructors were great, the lessons were very clear, and the examples in the books they gave were almost identical to the ones on the actual test that I took after completing the class.

The materials alone were far superior to anything I had gotten from Kaplan/Princeton... by the time I took the test it almost felt like I was cheating because each problem was so close to the examples they have provided, so I was easily able to answer all the questions.

Just as a reference, I took the test once got a 570, took the test after the course and got a 710, the first time I took the course I had to guess on 4 problems in each section due to time constraints, second time I took the test I had 20 minutes to do the last 4 problems on each part...I can't say enough good about MGMAT, their instructors, or their materials...worth every penny
