I have debated for some time about choosing my ultimate stretch school. I had it narrowed down to Sloan and Wharton, and would be interested in hearing other people's opinions regarding the chance of admissions success to these two programs.

I initially decided on Wharton because of its prestige in Finance aligned very well with my post-MBA desire to work in Corporate Treasury. What really swayed my decision was that statistically speaking, it almost seemed like Wharton might be easier to get into than Sloan (GMAT, GPA, admittance yield, etc.).

Is this an absurd comment? Am I to assume Wharton has a higher expectation for non-statistical data like work experience, extracurriculars, leadership, etc? Does Sloan focus more on academia and standardized tests in its admissions?

As an applicant with a lower than median GMAT for these schools (within 80% percentile for both programs), but with extremely strong work experience, extracurriculars, and GPA, which school would I have a better chance at being admitted? I believe both schools are a good fit for me.

If you can visit both schools I'd suggest doing so. That's the best way to determine which, if either, program is right for you. Stats aren't everything. I have a very close friend who had a 2.7 GPA in undergrad and he just graduated from Sloan. There is no cut and dry formula to determine which school you will or will not get into.
