I'm so very very very torn on what to do. Who should I get my recommendation letters from? Managers and Senior Managers who know me a bit more well or Partners?
My admin consultant (who is completely awesome) and all the advice online tells me to go with people that know me well, the managers and senior managers I have worked with. I trust them, it's great, they were my original choice and I was happy with that.
However, I work at a big consulting firm and I've had my career advisor, local office partners, AND my project partner pull me aside to talk to me about how important it is that because we come from this firm that all the schools know, I get partners to recommend me. Apparently the schools will freak out and wonder why the owners of the firm aren't pushing me to go forward to grad school as they want me to come back. Perhaps they are drinking each other's kool-aid. I don't know. The project partner is the only one I'd trust my aps to (though I want to go to Stanford and he's probably going to write something about wanting me to come back to the firm which I know isn't what Stanford's looking for), all the other partners are a bit wishy washy as they are often too busy to crank out wonderful and/or personal recommendation letters.
