Hi there!
I would appreciate an opinion a small issue:
- Basically, for one of my recommendations I chose someone from a non-profit where I have volunteered quite extensively; he has the official title of 'project manager'. My volunteering work has been done completely on my own, with no relation to the company I'm working for.
- In the application form for most schools I found that I have to indicate my relationship with my referrer and they present a few high level categories (direct supervisor, client, peer etc.)
Where would my non-profit manager fit? He would be a client, but I done independent volunteer work, so he's not really a client per se. Should I just write 'other - project manager at volunteering organisation'? Or anything else?
Any thoughts would be great!

Did he oversee your work in any way? You can have oversight without infringing upon your autonomy. If he did, then he's a direct supervisor. If he didn't, then go the "other" route and explain it in the optional essay.
